ACCESS AND COST. Attorneys get access to the templates by subscribing to NobleForms on the HotDocs Market website with a monthly ($100) or annual ($1,000) subscription.
SEE HOW IT WORKS. The attorney goes online to the attorney’s section of the HotDocs Market site and runs a template (for example the Trust template) by typing answers to questions in an Interview. At the end of the Interview the attorney saves the answers and an “Answer File” is produced. The Trust document is then produced in Word and downloaded to the attorney’s computer where it is saved and can be edited. To produce another document for the same client, the attorney selects the next template (i.e., the Will template) and then using the saved “Answer File” starts answering questions in the Interview for the Will template. Any questions previously answered, i.e, client name, names of trustee, etc., do not have to be re-typed because they are already in the saved Answer File. The Pourover Will document to be used in conjunction with the Trust is then produced and downloaded to the attorney’s computer. The updated Answer File is saved. Since the system is Cloud Based the attorney can use a Mac or a PC, or for that matter a tablet for a smart phone, to access the templates. The documents are produced in Word so the attorney can edit them on a PC or Mac with Word running. For more detailed see www.NobleForms.com.
ADVANTAGES. The templates are extremely sophisticated and very flexible so the attorney can create a very client-specific plan. Documents produced using the templates are more accurate than documents created based on the “Save As” and the “Cut and Paste” approach. The attorney will save a great deal of time using these templates. The templates work for clients with simple estate planning needs as well as for clients with complex estate planning issues. Taken together the templates constitute a complete estate planning system from intake to document production to trust funding and creation of a three-ring binder for the client. These templates have been developed by an Oregon estate planning attorney and are specifically designed for an Oregon practice. The system is especially helpful for younger attorneys who have had limited exposure to estate planning but who wish to expand their practice into estate planning.
